Our history, our wines, our winery

Founded in 1971, the Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini is located in the heart of an area particularly well-suited for viticulture. It is framed by the hills of Cortona, the Val di Chiana, Montepulciano, and the Val d’Orcia.

Established with the aim of promoting the grapes of a few local producers, Viticoltori Senesi Aretini now has more than 200 contributing members, whose vineyards collectively cover an area of approximately 350 hectares, spread across the provinces of Siena and Arezzo.

Dr. Maurizio Castelli & Dr.ssa Mery Ferrara

Thanks to continuous investments in the winery and oenological collaboration with Dr. Maurizio Castelli and Dr. Mery Ferrara, Viticoltori Senesi Aretini has significantly improved the quality of its wines in recent years.

This is evidenced by the numerous awards and accolades received, in addition to product quality certifications.

The winery

The Winery provides its contributing members with careful and thorough technical support in the vineyard that covers the entire lifecycle of the grapevine, from the vegetative phase of the vines to the grape delivery.

The goal is to obtain high-quality grapes, essential for producing wines that meet market expectations and have a strong connection to the territory.

Over the years, the winery has significantly transformed its production structure: from the initial bulk wine sales, it gradually transitioned to producing a wide range of bottled wines. The typical table wines have been complemented by the finer IGT (white and red) and the DOCG Chianti, including Biologico versions, and in the best vintages, Riserva.

In recent years, more and more producers have embraced organic farming, demonstrating their interest and commitment to the land and our natural environment. The focus on the environment, along with locally sourced and controlled raw materials, ensures the excellent quality of our wines.
